Soursop trees grow scattered through gardens and small farms across Cameroon, more often noticed for their spiky green fruit than for what grows around it. But long before anyone thinks to pick the fruit, the leaves themselves have quietly been part of evening routines brewed simply, and sipped slowly, long after the sun goes down.
Moonlit Garden is our tribute to that quieter half of the tree: a soft, caffeine-free infusion made for the end of the day.
What Is Soursop Leaf Tea?
Soursop leaf tea is brewed from the dried leaves of Annona muricata, the tree that produces soursop fruit (also known as graviola in some regions). The leaves themselves have nothing to do with the fruit's sweet, tangy flavor instead, they produce a mellow, herbal cup, gentle enough to become a nightly habit rather than an occasional treat.
Since it's brewed from a leaf and not the Camellia sinensis tea plant, it's naturally caffeine-free, making it one of the easiest teas to enjoy right before bed.
An Evening Habit, Passed Down Quietly
In Cameroon and across parts of Central Africa, soursop leaves have long been steeped at home in the evening a low-key, familiar habit rather than anything formal. It's the kind of ritual that doesn't need explaining in the household it comes from: you make a cup, you sit down, and the day slows a little.
We wanted Moonlit Garden to hold onto exactly that feeling something to return to at the end of the day, not a supplement to measure out.
A Note on What This Tea Is (and Isn't)
Soursop leaf tea has, at times, been marketed online with bold health claims including some tied to serious illness that aren't supported by reliable evidence. We won't repeat any of those claims here, and we'd encourage you to be skeptical of any tea, ours included, sold as a cure for anything serious. What we can say honestly is that Moonlit Garden is a calming, naturally caffeine-free infusion, valued at home for its gentle character and its place in an evening wind-down nothing more, nothing less. If you're pregnant, nursing, or managing a health condition, check with your doctor before adding any new herbal tea to your routine.
